By the way, in case you didn't finish the book, it was very important to me to show that the gay romance didn't end like Brokeback Mountain or Milk or all the other mainstream gay stories. How you missed that is beyond me. None of the young people missed it. Young men and women alike want more Goran and Thom.

Harsh.

Although I love a guybrarian...don't get me wrong.
Would love to talk to you about some of the points. You infer what you infer, I imply what I imply. It's a young adult book. The mail I get from young people is light years different from what you write -- which borders on a strange form of literary criticism and something I'm learning as blog. Either way, if you want to talk more, feel free to e-mail me at perrymoorestories.com.

I didn't set out to right catcher in the rye, a book that disappointed me with it's flits and overprivileged. I simply wrote something I didn't think existed...and I suspected a great number would find solace, strength and inspiration in it. I was right.

When i was young, books simply saved me. Librarians and English teachers, too. They just knew. And they saved my life. I would have killed myself, I'm sure of it.

This whole new world of celebritydom, even in the book world, is not, I believe a good thing. Books were to be discovered. I'm oil and water parts old school and progressive. I would never have read so much if there had been so many critical blurbs to read before the book.

Something to think about?

Best,

Perry Moore

I read this book and liked it quite a bit, although I read it as a book on CD, so I didn't get any of the illustrations that you speak of. :(
